The Fed discount borrowing window, which provides liquidity to the banking system, has reached an all time high. Look at that graph. Yikes!

UBS Buying Credit SuisseIn a $3.2 billion dollar deal USB has agreed to by CS, which is the first merger or large banks since 2008. UBS called it "an emergency rescue." It may be the first of many mergers to come.

Warren Maybe Looking for a Bank?The Biden administration has been discussing the possibility of him investing in the U.S. regional banking sector. Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway used to own 1.16% of Wells Fargo, but sold it in Q1 of 2022. 

Fed WatchThis Wednesday the Fed will announced their next interest rate decision. Markets are favoring a 0.25% increase (61%) or a pause (39%). Most think it's very unlikely to get a 0.50% increase thanks to the bank collapses.

Senator Warren Not Happy with PowellShe has never been a fan and she just said, "He has had two jobs. One is to deal with monetary policy. Once is to deal with regulation. He has failed at both."

The Fed has a dual mandate, low unemployment and low inflation. The two mandates can sometimes be contradictor, like now when the Fed is trying to slow the economy and increase unemployment to bring down inflation.

Oil ForecastGoldman Sachs has lowered it's 12 month Brent projection from $100 to $94.

From Tech to FinancialsVisa and Mastercard are being reclassified as financials while Paypal, ADP and Fiserv will move to be industrials.

Love Ads? Netflix Has a Deal for YouTheir new ads tier has reached 1 million subscribers, up over 500% in the first month and then another 50% the second month. It seems many people don't mind the ads as much as they mind paying for TV. 

CryptoOpen interest for Bitcoin has reached $12 billion, which is yearly high. This means that new traders are opening positions in a derivatives contract. If it's increasing that means more positions are being opened than closed.

Crypto Friendly BanksWe've heard a lot about the banks that recently went down being crypto friendly, much to the consternation of the crypto sector. However, JP Morgan, Citi and HSBC have signaled a they are willing to bank crypto firms.
