Quest vs Vision Pro

Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg painted a stark contract between his vision of VR/AR goggles and Apple’s, saying,

“Our vision for the metaverse and presence is fundamentally social. Our device also encourages active engagement and participation. In contrast, every demo they [Apple] showcased featured an individual sitting alone on a couch.“

Apple’s Vision Pro is $3,500, while Meta’s Quest Pro is $1,000. The Apple goggles has control through eye movements and hand gestures with no controllers, is lighter and has a translucent, high resolution display. However, that takes a lot of juice so the user has to wear a battery and have a wired connection.

Walgreens has opened an experimental store in Chicago that focuses on digital shopping. Shoppers can browse two aisles of merchandise and order other products online or through a kiosk.

Walgreens says the new format is not aimed at preventing theft, but rather at meeting the needs of modern shoppers who prefer to use self-checkout and online order/store pickup. (sure, Walgreens)

End of the Bear Market?

A Bank of America analyst said Friday “the bear market is officially over” and equities still have legs.

  • She added that the S&P 500 typically has extended gains in the 12 months after crossing the 20% turning point 92% of the time going back to the 1950s.

  • Also, the return of positive real yields and improved company margins after cost cutting will help equities, in her view.

Want to improve your credit score (FICO)? Start by focusing in 2 things:

Payment history is the most important factor in determining your credit score and makes up 35% of your score. This is because lenders want to see that you have a history of making your payments on time.

The amount of debt you have is also important to lenders and accounts for 30% of your score. If you are carrying too much debt, it can lower your credit score. Lenders want to see that you are able to manage your debt responsibly.

Pro tip: If you have a credit card, always keep the balance below 30%. So if your limit is $1,000, always pay your balance down below this $300 and preferably pay it off completely every month. That will help your “utilization rate,” which ideally needs to be under 30%.

Here’s what makes up the rest of your credit score:

Length of credit history - 15%

New credit - 10%

Credit mix - 10%

"Your credit score is like your report card for your financial life. It shows lenders how responsible you are with money, and it can affect your ability to get a loan, a credit card, or even an apartment."
