SpaceX Spectrum Deal May Benefit These Stocks
SpaceX is expanding its wireless ambitions, and cell-tower companies are the early winners.
After the news, shares of American Tower, Crown Castle, and SBA Communications all jumped at least 6%. Crown Castle led the group with a gain of about 12%. In contrast, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile fell sharply, with T-Mobile down roughly 10%.
We know that Spectrum will help Starlink Mobile signals penetrate walls and reach devices inside buildings—coverage that still relies on traditional cell towers in dense urban areas.
Analysts called the move a clear positive for the tower sector. Madison Rezaei of Bernstein wrote that it undercuts the idea that towers are becoming obsolete in a direct-to-device satellite world and raises the chance of a new customer for tower capacity.
Tower stocks have struggled for years. Higher interest rates and the rise of satellite connectivity weighed on the group. Over the past five years, American Tower is down more than 30%, SBA about 45%, and Crown Castle about 55%.
Some observers remain cautious. Gregory Williams of TD suggested SpaceX could be using the spectrum news partly as leverage to negotiate a cheaper mobile virtual network operator deal with an existing carrier. Still, most analysts treat the purchase as a serious step toward denser terrestrial service.
JPMorgan’s Sebastiano Petti noted that SpaceX would likely need macro towers to deliver performance comparable to traditional wireless networks. Bernstein’s Rezaei agreed that the company appears to be keeping a terrestrial build option open. Petti also flagged Anterix’s 900 MHz spectrum as a possible future target for SpaceX.

Pokémon Cards Surge in Value: Opportunities and Risks for Collectors
Pokémon and other trading cards are attracting growing interest as collectibles and alternative investments. A record $16.5 million sale of a rare Pikachu Illustrator card has highlighted the market’s potential, while rising sports-card prices are encouraging buyers to explore non-sports cards featuring popular characters and franchises.
A card’s value depends on its authenticity, condition, rarity, professional grading, and resale demand. Cards graded PSA 10, representing near-perfect condition, can command particularly high prices. The market is expanding rapidly, with trading-card games accounting for a growing share of grading activity and sales.
However, trading cards are risky investments. Prices can fluctuate, some cards may lose value, and counterfeit Pokémon cards are becoming increasingly common. Buyers should research verified sales, compare prices, check population reports, and use reputable authentication and grading services before purchasing.
